• Understanding the problem - A significant amount of my time in the engineering industry and the Water industry has involved getting under the skin of the problem that the client is experiencing and how that problem came about. Once you can understand their perspective on how the event/situation is created then the solution becomes obvious. As such correctly identifying the root cause produces the most sustainable solution.

• Defining the customers requirement – distilling the cause and solution into a coherent and relevant requirement that can be given to the client or used to assist in the implementation of the solution.

• Identification of improvements – site visits and walkovers highlight issues that would be impossible to grasp without being there. Improvements to existing infrastructure is sometimes all that’s needed.

• Technologically aware – The industry moves on so quickly that innovative solutions are abundant but not always deliverable, whilst old technology has been superseded by new technology, feasibility of a proposal is also a key  to a successful water management plan.

• Solutions review – when an organisation is about to spend on a new system sometimes an independent overview can be the difference between a quality solution or one that’s not quite there.

• Crisis Project Management – Not a main focus for Demetae but one that its more than capable of undertaking if required, when an organisation is struggling to deliver due to a poorly planned solution sometimes external intervention can be a game changer.
